Despite what the name sounds like, it is actually an elected position inside the [[universal mind]], but the elections were rigged aeons ago and the current Lord maintains powers mostly through [[Maths|gerrymandering qualia]], ignorance about the election, and apathy among voters (all sentient beings). But not even the Lord of the God-Kings is above the [[Flags]].{{Citation Needed}}

The divine voice of the Lord of the God-Kings is described as the sound of an airhorn, insomuch that the airhorn sound is the Lord of the God-Kings making itself known to us.  During elections, candidates demonstrate their loudness for the position.
