The Moon

The "Moon" is the socially constructed satellite of the Earth. Early literary evidence of the "Moon" first appear in the 16th century, after which it was widely understood to be a literary or mythological concept. The first literalized "Moon "was launched by the US Army Corpse of Engineers in 1865, followed by a cinematic realization by Georges Méliè in 1902. During the 20th century the "Moon" saw a number of stages, including daily appearances and a highly publicized "landing" in 1969.
